Bayern Munich’s key player Jozua Kimmich has made snide remarks about his teammates.
“Jozua Kimmich has criticized his teammates after claiming Harry Kane and Bayern Munich’s title hopes were dealt a devastating blow in the loss to Dortmund,” British outlet Goal.com reported on Jan. 31 (ET).
Bayern Munich lost 0–2 to Dortmund in the 27th round of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on Jan. 31 (ET). The loss leaves the Bavarians 13 points adrift of league leaders Leverkusen at the top of the table.
The first goal came early on. In the ninth minute of the first half, on the counterattack, Dortmund broke Munich’s pressure with an organized pass, which Brandt crossed to Adeyemi, who pounced. Adeyemi, who won the pace race with Der Licht, finished lightly to make it 1–0.
In the 37th minute of a tightly contested game, Sebastien Alleyne, who was in the Munich box, slipped a pass to Leroy Sane, who was running in from the right, and Leroy Sane finished with one touch to make it 2–0.
Bayern Munich would eventually lose 2–0 to their eternal rivals Dortmund and look set to be pushed out of the title race at the end of the season. They also drew the ire of their fans as Kane missed two golden chances in crucial situations.
Kimmich reacted angrily after the derby defeat and criticized his teammates’ second-half performance. He warned that they must improve before facing Arsenal in the Champions League after their hopes of winning the Bundesliga were dashed or they could end the season without a title.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Kimmich said: “I wonder how we can play like that in a game 스포츠토토 like this. It’s inexplicable and incomprehensible to me. In the second half, we didn’t even show the will to attack. It was like a friendly.”
He added: “Our players have to go home and ask themselves questions. It doesn’t matter who is in the team. It will be difficult next week against Heidenheim and also in the Champions League.”
Munich coach Tuchel also insisted that the race for the Bundesliga title is over. “Congratulations to Bayer Leverkusen,” Tuchel said in his post-match interview. The title race is over,” Tuchel said after the match.
